Secure Our Future through Innovation

The Agriverse Carbon Capture Challenge AC3 is a global initiative committed to protecting our planet by creating sustainable agricultural systems which increase food security in communities worldwide and remove carbon gases from the atmosphere.

Farm the Unfarmable

AC3’s international collaborative of agricultural and climate scientists will introduce economically viable solutions to cultivate nutritious foods year-round in locations where no stable sources of fresh, locally farmed foods exist.

Precision agricultural farming methods and facilities will be designed for deployment to unfarmable locations including hot dry desert lands, storm ravaged landscapes, brownfields, and crowded urban environments.

Capture Airborne Carbon

AC3 researches at collaborative institutions in hundreds of locations across the US will manage a system of direct air carbon capture devices powered by renewable energies, solar, wind and geothermal. Captured carbon can be buried or piped to subterranean reservoirs and to lock it out of the atmosphere for thousands of years.

Capture Carbon with Carbon

Biochar is the carbon family’s knight in shining black armor. Made from biowaste, like sticks and stalks, biochar is carbon locked tightly in lightweight black shards. AC3’s biochar researchers will work on restoring poor soil in harsh environments and develop building materials to absorb carbon from the air in urban settings.

Research Collaborative

Minority Serving Institutions (MSI) in the US offer degrees in environmental science and science education. In collaboration with Agriserve Carbon Capture Challenge (AC3), the MSI STEM Research & Development Consortioum will provide critical environmental educational and research opportunities to students and faculty on MSI campuses in states countrywide.
